The new issue of “Sea Breeze Magazine” extensively covers the “Baku–Khankendi” Azerbaijan Cycling Race. The article titled “History on Two Wheels” highlights the significance of the five-day race for the country — covering 21 cities and districts across Azerbaijan — as well as its high organizational standard and the international interest it generated.
The article notes that the race kicked off at “Sea Breeze” and became one of the key milestones in the history of the Azerbaijani cycling. Moving through various cities and regions along the route, the peloton showcased the country’s nature, cities, and historic sites to the global audience.
The article also emphasizes the extensive coverage of the event on international television and media platforms. Broadcasted on global channels such as “Eurosport,” “Discovery+,” “HBO Max,” and “Prime Video,” the “Baku–Khankendi” Azerbaijan Cycling Race contributed to promoting the Azerbaijani cycling on a global scale.
The sporting results of the race were featured prominently as well. Josh Barnett, a member of Spain’s “Burgos Burpellet BH” team, took the general classification victory and finished first at the final stage. Meanwhile, Italy’s Marco Manenti won the fourth stage, securing the first UCI victory of his professional career.
The publication stresses that the “Baku–Khankendi” race was not merely a sporting competition, but a major project introducing Azerbaijan’s diverse regions, natural beauty, and cultural heritage to an international audience. Describing the race route as “an ideal visual guide to seeing Azerbaijan,” the article underscores how the path — winding through mountains, forests, lakes, and historic sites — helped showcase the country’s tourism potential.
It is noteworthy that “SEA BREEZE RESORT” was one of the primary sponsors and supporters of the “Baku–Khankendi” Azerbaijan Cycling Race, which took place from May 10 to 14.
