The winner of Stage 3 of the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race Gleb Syritsa, a member of Kazakhstan’s XDS Astana Team, said the following at the press conference:

“Our main goal was to keep the leader’s jersey, and we have succeeded in doing that. Another one of our goals was to finish this stage while using as little energy as possible, because two very difficult stages await us ahead. If our team fought at maximum strength every day, our energy would quickly run out.”
